Future Schedule

Depending on my performance at Q-school, I have laid out a plan for any potential scenario that may arise. If I don’t qualify for the PGA or Nationwide Tour, I plan on attempting to qualify for the Hooters Tour. Unlike PGA Tour Q-School, Hooters Tour qualifying school consists of one stage in which you are “ranked” based on your finish. Depending on what place you finish, your ranking determines how many events you can play the following season. Assuming I either become fully exempt on the Hooters Tour, or have a ranking that permits me to attempt to Monday qualify for each event, I plan on playing in a majority of Hooters Tour events during the course of the year. I also plan on playing in select local events, such as the Connecticut Open, where it is permissible in order to keep expenses low.

If I do not qualify for the Hooters Tour, I will play a combination of Tarheel Tour events and local New England events. The Tarheel Tour is one of the most respected mini tours in the country. The Tarheel Tour has proven to be a breeding ground for future Nationwide Tour and PGA Tour players, hosting events throughout North Carolina and Virginia, which helps to limit travel expenses. The schedule I have developed consists of 8 Tarheel Tour events and 3 North American Pro Golf Tour events, another respected mini tour in New England, as well as numerous local events in New England.

From talking with different players such as Kyle Gallo, a recent Nationwide Tour player, and other mini tour players I believe this is the best approach to launching my professional career. Many of these players played on the Hooters Tour on their path to the Nationwide and PGA Tour, providing them the best combination of top level tournament experience and substantial financial reward. I have shown my potential schedules to these players, and they agreed that this was the right approach to getting to the next level. In order to prepare for the PGA or Nationwide Tour, I need to get a lot of experience playing tournaments with competitive fields and significant purses. I think it will definitely be something to get adjusted to, but at the same time, I am very excited to fully dedicate myself to playing golf professionally without the added pressure of schoolwork.
